Rasul sits in one of the chairs, grasping the cup of Tea. he takes a sip. it was a Green Tea with Honey. Rasul was in Delight, but the matter of business took precedent "far too long indeed. it's been what? 3 years since our little 'guided tour' so to speak?"

Will thought for a second, then laughed, "Yeah, I guess so. And it's been quite some time since Linora and I have had a good conversation either. So what brings the two of you to this end of town?" while he knew the two still got along well, he hadn't expected a reunion. For them to approach him together, something was probably up. If they wanted him to leave with them again... he may have to decline. But if there was something he could do to help his friends here, he would do it in a heartbeat.

Linora took a sip of the tea - it was good - but then she got straight to the point. "Well it's about Rengo, our son," she starts. "Some miscommunication between Rasul and myself it seems Rengo has gone missing. This has lead us to suspect that he's enrolled in the Hylian army. Of course it's just a speculation but it's the best lead we've got. Would you happen to know anything about such a thing?"

William's face dropped to concern, "I don't usually look into every new recruit personally, but if you would like to join me again tomorrow morning, I can look through the last few days of new people and see if his name is on the list. But until then, I'm afraid that's the best I can do." Honestly, now was the worst possible time for anyone new to be joining the army. Hopefully they could find him, and hopefully he could be either trained quickly or brought into a safer staff position.

William sighed, "I'm really sorry, but the records aren't kept in my office, and the record-keepers are at home for the night. With just how large the barracks are, I can't just walk in and find him either. I really wish I could help... if there's anything I can do to possibly help you before then, I'll do my best," he hated seeing them like this. He wasn't a father himself, but as a commanding officer, he still understood their pain, in a way. And he knew that it had to be almost unbearable.

" Many Thanks, Brother" Rasul says, giving a dwarven salute, hitting his chest and then hovering it 3 inches from the impact point. Will and Rasul had their differences, but Rasul held Will in high regard, especially after the travels they had with...a mutual friend.

"Will..." Linora says and turns more serious than she had been before as she looks Will straight in the eyes. "Why do you say now's the worst possible time to be joining the army? I've heard nothing of any coming wars or any big threats to the kingdom at all."

Will shuffled his feet a little anxiously. He hadn't meant to let anything slip, but... well, if any civilian should know, it would be then, "Just a reminder, all of this is strictly confidential, and you can't tell anyone. And if you do, it wasn't from me you heard it, got it?" the general stirred his tea for a moment, choosing the words carefully as he spoke them "We've had... reports. A plague coming from the Desert. But it's more than just a disease. It doesn't just kill. According to our spies, it's... bringing those it kills back. A soulless husk of a creature, seeking only to spread its curse to those yet unaffected. We're doing our best to quarantine the desert, but if any infected beings happened to get through before our blockade, or even get around it, then no doubt the army will have to march on them. And honestly, I have no idea how we'll fair. This would be a foe like none we've ever seen. One that turns brother against brother, soldier against commander... father against son," he breathed in deeply, "And our side is the only one that would care."

Rasul ponders " Probably why I'm being called in to be honest. they need a consultation most likely. the messenger wasn't very talkative, but he was quite looming. this is some great tea by the way. you have to give me your recipe"

"This is no time for tea recipes, Rasul," Linora says with a mixture of annoyance and worry in her voice. "Will, if you don't mind me asking, have there been any reports or suspicions at all of this curse having spread past the desert?"

"Nothing we've seen," William responded, "But we can't say for sure. We have platoons searching the field, but with no knowledge of how long it's been happening or an ability to see everywhere... we can't promise anything. We have soldiers scouting everywhere we can think. But no, no reports have been filed yet." He looked Rasul up and down, "You were called to the castle? You think you have some way you can help with this?"

Rasul nods "Along with my skills as a Blacksmith and enchanter, I do dabble occasionally with Apothecary work. I believe Zelda thinks I can conjure a cure. Though to be honest it will take a lot of trial and error, and ingredients might be on the macabre side, but it should be possible"

William stands up, "In that case, we should get you to the castle soon. I'm sure the Queen would want to hear from you as soon as you've arrived. If you excuse me, I'm going to get changed into something more worthy of attending court," he stopped halfway out, "Linora, you can come as well. Between being a war hero and confidante of both myself and Rasul, you have as much right to join us as anyone else."

Linora thinks for a while. Even though she had been proclaimed a war hero at the end of the civil war she hadn't really felt like one. For most of her time in the war she had been a wanted deserter so her relation to the authorities and the crown were always a bit awkward even after she was pardoned and officially named a hero. Besides the occasional meet-up with Will, Linora hadn't had any encounters with anyone who had ties to the royal family since the end of the war so she was hesitant to join them. This was a serious matter though, and if she could do anything at all to help out she wanted to.
"I'll join you," she replied after having given it enough thought. She stood up too and got herself prepared.
