"Oh come on dad, cut me some slack," Rengo groans. "I barely got any sleep in last night. Me just standing up is training enough considering my lack of rest."

Ari rolled her eyes silently. That was not a thing the army did, and she felt like Kazad was simply playing with his power a little too much. Maybe it was normal, but she had her doubts. Did they really have time for this? She held back her thoughts however. He wasn't actively putting their secrecy in jeopardy, and she eas already put off about how many times she'd openly questioned his actions. So she stayed silent on the matter, simply casting a glance of dismay at Rengo before the boy left to do as his father said.

Ari rolled her eyes once more and grabbed rations from her bag. She passed out one set of them, "Glad I caught enough for everyone," she said blandly.

"It seems young Aries is one step ahead of you, Rasul," Cornea says with a very brief smirk on his lips. "Well prepared and responsible. I respect that. Thank you Aries. My wife and I also brought rations along which should keep our party fed for a while. Great minds think alike."

Rasul takes the rations and takes a nibble, finding this sufficient for now. Tasul and Lon does as well. after breakfast and to avoid the pit of endless nothing Rasul signals to begin the Trek into the Desert

Rengo who was now fully awake after the breakfast sprung to action, getting his packing and joining his father.
"Alright everyone, chop chop! Time to hit the road again!" he exclaimed.
"Try to keep your voice down a bit, Ren," Linora told her son. "You never know who will be waiting around the next corner. I think we're fine for now, but never count on it."

Aries gave a soft smile of thanks upon learning that the Graes had packed for themselves. She hadn't known they'd be joining the party, and had only planned rations for seven people - which in itself was a large number. With them being able to feed themselves, she wouldn't have to worry about running quite as low. Rengo's outburst annoyed her still. He was just too... peppy. Too into it. It was almost like he didn't realize the gravity of the situation. It was all fine and good to be excited, but you'd think that some gravity would be awarded to the situation at least. The bridge thing was respectable though. Even when three men, the amount of strength and precision with a hammer required for that to work had to be astronomical. Even if General Kazad wasn't fit for a commanding officer's position, he would still make an excellent soldier.

Cornea didn't cross Rasul's makeshift bridge, but instead he grabbed his wife's hand and teleported over to the other side in a bright flash.
Rengo wondered why Cornea didn't just use the bridge. Was it because he didn't trust in the stability of Rasul's improvised bridge? Or was it because teleporting was simply easier for the shadow mage? As Rengo stood their in thought he saw his mother crossing the pillar without any problem. The bridge certainly seemed to be sturdy enough. Though him being able to cross it would depend a lot on his own balance.
"Alright people, go on and cross the bridge. We can't stand around here all day," he said and motioned to the rest to cross the pillar, meanwhile he was trying to figure out a safe way for himself to get across without looking like a noob.

Retina never really got used to being teleported by someone else. sure when she did it it was fine, but being transported to the realm of shadows for a brief moment by someone else was quite a trip, but Cornea knew what he was doing so she didn't mind. meanwhile, The Kazad brotherswalk on the Pillar, and cross the ravine with minimal effort, it being a flatish stone surface and all. Rasul though gestured to Linora, who he wanted to help up to the bridge only to see her on the other side. Smooth he thought, thinking it was a chance he missed to try to woo her, though she was not a woman to woo
